Italian Spring Championships: the thrill of being there and the strength to grow

9-12 April 2026

The Italian Artistic Swimming Championships for the categories Girls and Beginners A. Two events of the highest level that saw over 400 athletes take to the pool in each competition. In such a challenging environment, our athletes showed that true success lies in the courage to face the competition and give their all, heart and soul.

🔸 Girls' category: determination and future

Our very young and motivated group faced the pool with great character:

  • Emma Ciola, Greta Filippi, Stella Camera and Elisabetta Zanon: All at their absolute debut in this category! They were excellent in qualifying for this championship and handling the tension of the first time without making any significant mistakes.

  • Special mention for Emma Ciola: Despite being in her first year, she also managed to qualify for the free exercises, overcoming anxieties and fears with admirable grit and completing an excellent exercise with a smile.

  • Mia Mercadante: In her second year in the category, she confirmed her sporting maturity. Also qualified for the free exercises, she strategically chose to focus on the compulsory exercises, demonstrating seriousness and constant technical growth.

  • Giorgia Somaschini: Our “big” rookie. In her first year of competition after switching from the propaganda sector, she achieved the national qualification with an excellent score, showing great maturity.

As a team, we came close to the 63,000-point threshold for the summer championship: a goal missed by a whisker, but one that gives us the energy to work hard for the upcoming tests.

🔸 Category Beginners A: little big warriors

Even among the youngest, in an extremely crowded competition, we witnessed evidence of extraordinary resilience:

  • Alisea Dorin: Goal fully achieved and pass already obtained for the Summer Championships!

  • Irene Riboldi: In her first year in the category and making her debut in an Italian Championship, she did very well to immediately score points for the summer qualification.

  • Aurora Virdis: Despite the after-effects of a debilitating flu, she gritted her teeth and managed to honour the competition with a good score.

  • Rebecca Di Caprio: After a long forced stop for health reasons, he showed incredible willpower by hitting the race target despite very little training time in the water.

PODIUM AND SUCCESS AT THE COMPULSORY “MARATHON” AT THE CAM. REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS IN MONPIANO!

18 January 2026

The Brescia trip for NP Varedo's competitive sector ended with great satisfaction. In the setting of the Mompiano swimming pool, our athletes tackled an intense marathon of compulsory exercises, bringing home outstanding results and confirming the growth of the entire group.
Rookies B and C: The Future is already a Protagonist
The icing on the cake of the day came from our Rookie B Arianna Riondino, who took a well-deserved second place with an outstanding score of over 57,000.
Arianna competed precisely, cleanly and with great technical quality. Her performance did not go unnoticed: coaches from other clubs recognised her talent, appreciating her natural gifts and the path she is building with NP Varedo.
Immediately afterwards it was the turn of Giorgia Asaro (Esordienti C). In her first year of synchro, Giorgia competed in the “Green Years” event. In this category, the region chose to make the event non-competitive to teach the little ones the joy of learning while having fun, without the anxiety of rankings and scores. But beyond the competition format, we know that Giorgia did very well!
✨ Join us! Our little athletes are looking for new teammates to have fun and grow together in the water. If you want to discover the magic of synchronised swimming, NP Varedo is waiting for you on the team!
Girls' Category: Determination and New Goals
The competition started with the first regional test for the Girls' category, where Mia Mercadante and the little first-years Emma Ciola (excellent 5th in 2013), Stella Camera and Elisabetta Zanon qualified for Ostia. Giorgia Somaschini, at her first competition as a competitor, tackled it without making mistakes and with determination. For Greta Filippi, also in her first year, emotion played tricks on her, but the experience gained will be crucial for the next stages.
Ex. A: Veterans Drag the Little Ones
Next it was the turn of the Beginners A. The veterans dictated the pace: Aurora Virdis (9th), Rebecca Di Caprio (10th) and Alisea Dorin, with scores significantly improved on last year's, easily qualified for Ostia. Among the very young first-years, Irene Riboldi took the pass for the Italians. A pinch of regret for Isabel Cardinale, unfortunately first among the excluded despite a good performance. For Ginevra Giaramida, emotion played a nasty trick at the very beginning of an exercise, compromising the rest of the competition, but she did not give up and finished with pride: the emotion of the debut plays nasty tricks, but there is plenty of time to recover and learn.
Junior Recovery:
At the end of the day, space was given to the recovery of the Junior category. Wonderful virtual third place for Alice Colombo Cassarino, with a score that also allows her to take the free to the Italian Championships. Cecilia Franchini confirmed her scores, while Emma Gritti, first year in the category, just missed qualifying by a few hundredths. Bea Cercone, already qualified last competition, consolidates her preparation. A praise to the three small Girls category competing also in the Juniors: Mia and Emma improve their score, while Stella remains constant; competing with the Junior “giants” being only in the first year Girls is not a small thing and shows all the value of our athletes.

REGIONAL COMPULSORY ABSOLUTE/JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

14 December 2025

After the enthusiasm of the first outing, our athletes returned to the pool at the Regional Absolute/Junior Compulsory Championships with even more grit and determination.
Alice, Cecilia and Beatrice confirmed their qualification for the Italian Winter Championships in Ostia, rewarding their perseverance and preparation. A well-deserved goal that propels them towards new national challenges!
Serena and Emma G. surprised everyone with a clear progress in their scores, showing increasing serenity and confidence.
The “little” three girls - Mia, Emma C. and Stella - also improved their personal bests, tackling the competition with courage and concentration. Moving from the compulsory Beginners A to the Junior exercises is a big leap: completing the tests with increasing precision is the goal we are pursuing, and the results speak for themselves!
Giorgia finally completed her “marathon” of patents to catch up on after switching from Propaganda to Agonism - how proud she is! Alongside her, little Rebecca shone, passing her exam with flying colours.✨
This season is bringing us confirmations, records and smiles. Every improvement, big or small, is a victory that unites us. The pool is waiting for us for more exploits... Ostia, here we come! 🌟

FIRST OUTING OF THE SEASON FOR THE AGONISTIC GIRLS: REGIONAL COMPULSORY ABSOLUTE/JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS AND STARLETS

30 November 2025

The first outing of the season was held for our athletes, who were competing in the Junior/Absolute Regional Compulsory Championships. It was an important competition, especially since it inaugurated the competitive path of many of them.
Alice, Serena, Cecilia, Beatrice, Emma G., Mia, Emma C. and Stella took to the water, each with different goals and challenges, but united by the same desire to give their all.
Pass for the Italian Junior Winter Championships
Qualifying for the Italians were:
Alice,
Beatrice (in her first year in the category),
Cecilia.
A result that rewards daily commitment and constant growth.
The youngest: courage and precision
Our youngest girls - Emma C. and Stella, in their first year in the Girls' category, and Mia, in her second year - faced a competition that was anything but easy. In spite of the tension of being in the pool next to much older athletes, they performed their test without errors, showing concentration and maturity.
Junior's progress
A big step forward also for Serena, who is increasingly smiling and able to live the competition with serenity, and for Emma G., in her first Junior year: a pinch of extra confidence will certainly make the difference in view of the next competition on 14 December.
Star Patent
Shortly afterwards, Stella, Emma C. and Mia took the Star Patent, passing it with flying colours together with their teammates Greta, Betta and Giorgia.
A special mention goes to Giorgia, who recovered several stars after the courageous move from the Propaganda to the Agonismo sector.
Rookies A on the rise
Also in the water were our Esordienti A: Irene, Isabel, Ginevra, Aurora and Alisea, engaged in their technical growth, step by step.
✨ Positive thinking
In this first outing we looked not only at the results, but at the smiles, the courage, the will to try. Every athlete took a step forward, however big or small.
And this is where the true value of sport is born: growing together, supporting each other, turning every competition into an opportunity to become stronger and more aware.
The season has only just begun... and it already promises splendid goals. 🌟
